About this role
You will be vital to the work of Ham and Petersham SOS, helping provide homemade, healthy soup to support our weekly lunch club at Ham library. Working with a team of other soup makers you will be scheduled to make soup on a week of your choice by prior arrangement. Expenses for ingredients can be reimbursed.
Your role may include:
- Purchasing ingredients
- Making approx 4 litres of soup
- Delivering it to the fridge at Ham Library on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning
When and where
At home in your kitchen.
Soup can be made at a time convenient to you and your family commitments and then frozen and thawed for the Wednesday you have agreed with Ham and Petersham SOS staff. You may wish to make it the day before, or even on the morning of the lunch club for delivery before 11:30am on Wednesdays
Who we’re looking for
- People interested in helping keep older residents mobile and living independently.
- Someone happy to make homemade soup in their own home
- People who want to support the local older population within Ham and Petersham
If you would like to be able to see how your volunteering directly affects our members this is a great way to help us support the community.
We run a rota system where you can assign dates to volunteer to yourself so that you can plan your volunteering around your other commitments.
