About this role
You will be vital to the work of Ham and Petersham SOS, helping us to reduce social isolation and loneliness in older people by providing a monthly Fish and Chip lunch
Your role may include:
- Setting up tables
- Setting up crockery and utensils
- Making and serving tea and coffee
- Collecting a pre ordered number of meals from the fish and chip shop on Ham Parade
- Serving fish and Chips
- Talking to older and or disabled attendees
- Washing up used crockery and utensils
- There is the opportuity to order and eat fish and chips whilst volunteering
When and where
The fourth Friday of the month at Ham library from 11:45am-2pm approx
You will be offered dates for the month ahead, and you can sign up for one or more Friday to suit your committments at the time or arrangement
Who we’re looking for
People who want to give back to the local community, people who see the value in getting residents together to reduce isolation and loneliness and people who want to meet new people, make friends and be part of the community. Likeing a chat and a slice of cake is also helpful.
We run a rota system where you can assign dates to volunteer to yourself so that you can plan your volunteering around your other committments.
