Meet our Trustees

Aiden Buckley

Aiden has been a part of our charity since 2018, initially as a volunteer driver and helping out on our shopping bus. He was delighted to join the board as trustee in 2020 and he took on the role of Chair in 2024.

Having seen how much his grandparents struggled in later life, Aiden has been passionate about trying to make a difference to the lives of the more vulnerable in the community. Over the coming years, with and ageing population and funding for health and social care continuing to come under pressure, Aiden feels strongly that it will be charities such as ours which will provide an increasingly vital role within the local community.

Over the past decade, after a career working as a Managing Director in the finance industry for many years, Aiden has been heavily involved in the local voluntary sector. He has been a trustee of several local charities, he has spent time as CEO of Age UK Richmond, and as a cricket coach and junior development manager, he has been helping to run the junior section of Ham & Petersham Cricket Club. He also spends a lot of time running around after his two children and two dogs!

Chris Auliffe

Treasurer

Chris Lane

Chris moved to Ham in 2011 and started volunteering for the charity in the early stages of Covid, initially as a minibus driver. His interest in local community-based charities was spurred on after seeing the total lack of social interaction and assistance available for his parents where he grew up in Oundle, Northants, and the effect that had on them. Chris was thrilled to join our board as a trustee in May 2023 and has since taken on the role of Vice Chair.

For over 20 years, Chris has had a highly successful career working in City. He has worked for a number of investment banks including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and most recently as a Director, managing an equity trading business at Credit Suisse, before he retired in 2021.

Chris is very passionate about travel and exploring new places and immersing himself in the local culture, music, cuisine and wine. When not in Ham, he spends his spare time in Norway with his wife and 2 cats. He has recently been looking at becoming a farmer / vigneron / hotelier and has studied wine up to Diploma level at WSET. Chris plays tennis (pretty badly these days!) and is also trying hard to improve at yoga and surfing.
